As we know chrome is one of the best browsers and it has covered 57.46% market share worldwide. because google chrome is light and fast, people always prefer to use this browser.
if you use google chrome then you noticed that a process called GoogleUpdate.exe is running in the background. you can check it using task manager.
that service continually accesses the internet without requesting permission, without providing an option to disable it. even if you kill this services it automatically comes after some time or when you open any google product next time.
actually, Google creates a standalone exe file to check for new version updates and if they find any update, it will automatically update and install without informing you.
there are so many methods to remove or block GoogleUpdate.exe but I will show you simple one.

How to Remove GoogleUpdate.exe
Method 1: Disable google updater service by using CONTROL PANEL
1) Go to Windows Start Menu > Run
2) type services.msc and click OK
3) Find and Double Click on Google Update Service.
4) Under the General tab, Change the Startup Type setting to Disabled.
5) now search Task Scheduler on windows search and open it.
6) Find the Scheduler that has “Google Update” > double Click on it and Disable or Delete it.
7) Reboot your computer.
Method 2: Disable or delete google updater service by manually deleting
The googleupdate.exe file is most likely in an Update folder within the Google application’s installation directory. These files might instead be found in the C:\Users\[username\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Update\ folder if you’re using an old version of Windows.
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Update\ where you can find googleupdate.exe file just delete them and restart your computer.

Step 3: Create a rule in firewall
The easiest way is disallowing “GoogleUpdate.exe” service to access the Internet using your Firewall program. You can create a new rule in your Firewall settings to block this EXE file.
