1) Run Windows Troubleshooter
The easiest solution is that you can use the inbuilt Troubleshoot tool given in Windows. It’s not a 100% solution but it can help you a lot.
1. first open Control Panel (click Start, then scroll down the Windows System folder and you will find it there).
2. click on “troubleshooting -> system and security -> search and index”.
3. select what kind of problem you face then click on next.

2) Restart Windows Explorer
Restarting Windows Explorer is the easiest of all solutions. The main process of running Windows is windows explorer, So you can fix the taskbar by restarting it.
To jump directly into the Taskbar Manager, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc and then click on More details from the entire process, find the Windows Explorer and right-click on it and press Restart.

3) Restart Cortana Process
Sometimes the Cortona are responsible for this problem. In this case, the problem can also be solved by restarting the Cortona
To do that, right-click the taskbar and click “Task Manager.”
After that, find the Cortona process under the processes tab, and click on the “End task” button.
4) Restart Windows Search service
Another reason may be that the taskbar bar or start menu does not work because Windows Search Services is not working. This service is a system service that works with Windows only when Windows starts.
Firstly check whether the service is running or not by hitting Win + R, then type services.msc to open the Windows Services console. After that find windows search if it says “running” then ok. If not, you’ll have to start it manually.
Right-click on “Windows Search” and then click “Properties.”
In the Properties window click on the startup type menu and select “Automatic”. So that the service will automatically start every time when system start. Once you are done with the changes, click ‘OK.’
