Mac user might know that there are so many apps on the iPhone device that can be used to talk to Mac systems. Many apps can be used to unlock your Mac directly through your iPhone device, Now users who do not have an iPhone device can remember all those interactive features that help in accessing the Mac through a smartphone, that’s because the Android device or other device is clearly on Mac Do not support. so that some developers are working hard to make sure that your Mac plays well with your Android device. Unlocking your Mac with your Android device’s fingerprint scanner adds an extra layer of security to your Mac and crosses the hassle of typing any password.
So, today I will run you through DroidID, a free app that lets you unlock your Mac from your Android’s fingerprint scanner.
Requirements to do this:
There are some system limitations that come with this app. To use it, you need to install a Mac client (also free) and your Android phone must have a fingerprint sensor.
- DroidID works on Bluetooth. so Bluetooth must be enabled on both the devices of all the time. (Bluetooth works on low frequencies so it will not use much battery
- An Android device running 6.0 Marshmallow or above.
- macOS El Capitan 10.11 or above.
Unlock Mac With Android Fingerprint Sensor
The first step is to download DroidID mac client and DroidID for Android.

When you launch the app for the first time, it will give you a code.
Enter it on your Mac inside the app’s client, and give it the password needed to unlock your Mac.

Once you’ve set up the DroidID, it’s very easy to use. Whenever you go to Mac “sleep automatically”, and a screensaver starts, just open DroidID on Android and scan your fingerprint. You must be automatically given the MAC without typing in the password. I insisted on the word “sleep automatically” because DroidID does not work when you lock your Mac manually by pressing on the name of your account from the menu bar and clicking “Login window … and when you first boot your system, DroidID will not be able to unlock it. If a phone restarts or turns on, your fingerprint cannot unlock it. remember You must have to enter a passcode or password to unlock the device.
